To connect to the WinChat network, you will need to have a "client", which is the software program for IRC. Irc clients connect your computer to the WinChat server computers. You can download a client from one of these main providers.
- Connect right now using your browser. A Web-based client will open from this link.

Note on the Java Browser: This runs from a self-signed Java .cab file. You need to have java installed and enabled for the Java Client to work. Make sure the security settings on your browser allow Java access and functionality.
A very complete list of IRC clients can be found at: www.valinor.sorcery.net/clients/
Or you can connect via your browser right now by clicking on the Java Client link. This will open a web-page connection to Winchat (takes a few seconds). Once you have connected, you should change your nickname in the box in the upper-left corner, and will have to join a channel (there is a channel list button so you can browse channels) by typing: /join #ChannelName a good place to start might be /join #Asylum.
